We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Consulting Editor to provide expert editorial guidance and ensure the highest standards of content quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong editorial background, exceptional writing and editing skills, and the ability to refine content for clarity, accuracy, and impact. This role involves collaborating with writers, content creators, and stakeholders to enhance content strategies and editorial workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Review, edit, and refine content to ensure clarity, coherence, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
Provide editorial guidance to writers and content creators, ensuring high-quality standards.
Develop and implement editorial strategies to improve content effectiveness and engagement.
Collaborate with subject matter experts, marketers, and designers to create compelling and accurate content.
Ensure all content aligns with industry standards, audience needs, and organizational objectives.
Oversee fact-checking, grammar, style, and tone consistency across all materials.
Mentor and guide junior editors and writers, fostering a culture of editorial excellence.
Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging content formats.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field.
Proven experience as an Editor, Senior Editor, or Consulting Editor, with a strong portfolio of work.
Excellent command of grammar, style, and editorial best practices.
Strong analytical skills to assess content effectiveness and provide constructive feedback.
Experience working with digital content, publishing platforms, and editorial workflows.
Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines.
Familiarity with SEO best practices and content strategy principles (preferred).
Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in academic, business, or technical editing (depending on industry focus).
Familiarity with AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style, or other relevant editorial guidelines.
Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and digital publishing tools.
