Job Description
The Facility Manager is responsible for ensuring that the organization’s buildings and associated services meet the needs of the people working within them. This role involves strategic planning and day-to-day operations, particularly in relation to buildings and premises, including maintenance, health and safety, security, space management, and vendor coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the operation and maintenance of the facility infrastructure (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, etc.).
Manage and coordinate all facility-related services including cleaning, security, and landscaping.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe work environment.
Plan and manage facility budgets, expenditures, and forecasts.
Negotiate and manage vendor contracts and service-level agreements.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure the facility meets regulatory standards.
Coordinate space planning and office relocations as needed.
Maintain records of maintenance schedules, warranties, licenses, and inspections.
Handle emergency situations and respond to facility-related issues promptly.
Implement sustainable practices and energy efficiency initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in facilities management or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of building systems (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, etc.).
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Proficient in MS Office and facility management software (e.g., CMMS).
Relevant certifications (e.g., FMP, CFM) are a plus.
