Job Description

The Career Counselor is responsible for guiding students and clients in identifying career goals, developing job search strategies, and making informed decisions about their educational and professional futures. The counselor offers personalized career planning, resume support, interview preparation, and connections to job and internship opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group career counseling sessions for students and job seekers.

Help clients assess their skills, interests, and values using standardized career assessment tools.

Assist with resume writing, cover letter creation, and interview preparation.

Guide students in identifying suitable career paths based on their academic background and personal goals.

Conduct workshops and seminars on career readiness, job search strategies, and professional networking.

Maintain updated knowledge of employment trends, industry requirements, and educational pathways.

Develop and maintain relationships with employers, alumni, and professional networks to facilitate internship and job placement opportunities.

Organize and participate in job fairs, career expos, and on-campus recruitment events.

Keep accurate records of counseling sessions and follow up with students to track career progress.

Collaborate with faculty and other departments to integrate career development into the academic curriculum.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Human Resources, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

Certification in career counseling or coaching (e.g., NCDA, GCDF) is a plus.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in career counseling or a related field.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and mentoring skills.

Proficiency in using career assessment tools and job search platforms.
