Cybersecurity Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Specialist to join our IT security team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for protecting our digital infrastructure and sensitive data from cyber threats by identifying vulnerabilities, implementing robust security measures, and responding to incidents.

Key Responsibilities:
Monitor networks and systems for security breaches, intrusions, and abnormal behavior.

Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify risks.

Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards.

Implement security solutions such as firewalls, antivirus software, and encryption protocols.

Analyze security incidents and provide thorough incident response and root cause analysis.

Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technology solutions.

Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure secure systems and data handling.

Conduct security training and awareness programs for employees.

Manage identity and access controls (IAM).

Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, HIPAA).

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.

Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or similar are preferred.

Experience:

3+ years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security roles.

Proven knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection.

Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and risk management.

Proficiency in security tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).

Effective communication and teamwork skills.
