Job Description

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Editor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and experience in editing a wide range of content. As an editor, you will be responsible for reviewing and refining written material to ensure it is clear, accurate, engaging, and aligned with our brand voice.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Editing: Edit and proofread content for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style, ensuring clarity and consistency throughout the text.

Structure and Flow: Ensure content is logically organized, maintaining proper flow, coherence, and readability.

Fact-Checking: Verify factual accuracy, ensuring that all information is correct, credible, and up-to-date.

Style Guide Adherence: Ensure all content aligns with the company’s style guide and tone, making necessary adjustments as needed.

Collaboration: Work closely with writers, content creators, and other departments to ensure the editorial vision is met.

Rewriting & Rephrasing: Rework or rewrite portions of text to improve clarity, tone, or readability while preserving the original meaning.

Meeting Deadlines: Ensure timely completion of all editing tasks, even when handling multiple projects simultaneously.

Provide Feedback: Offer constructive feedback to writers, helping them enhance their writing skills.

Required Qualifications:

Proven experience as an editor, content editor, or similar role.

Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, syntax, and punctuation.

Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors.

Familiarity with various style guides (e.g., AP, Chicago Manual of Style).

Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Proficiency in editing tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Grammarly, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

0-1yr experience in [specific industry, e.g., publishing, journalism, marketing, etc.].

Familiarity with SEO principles and best practices.

Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and publishing platforms.
