Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and creative Assistant Editor to support our editorial team. The ideal candidate should have strong writing, proofreading, and organizational skills. They will assist in content creation, editing, fact-checking, and coordinating with writers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality content production.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist in editing and proofreading articles, blogs, scripts, or other content for clarity, grammar, and style.

Work closely with writers, contributors, and editors to refine content.

Research and fact-check information to ensure accuracy.

Help manage editorial calendars and deadlines.

Coordinate with designers and multimedia teams for visual content.

Ensure content aligns with the brand’s voice, tone, and style guidelines.

Assist in content publishing, formatting, and SEO optimization.

Stay updated with industry trends and suggest improvements in content strategies.

Handle administrative tasks such as maintaining editorial records, tracking submissions, and responding to inquiries.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field.

1-2 years of experience in editing, publishing, or content creation.

Strong command of grammar, spelling, and writing conventions.

Familiarity with style guides such as AP, Chicago, or MLA.

Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

Proficiency in MS Office, Google Docs, and content management systems (e.g., WordPress).

Knowledge of SEO principles is a plus.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in digital publishing or media.

Familiarity with design and multimedia editing tools (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Photoshop).

Understanding of audience engagement strategies.
