Job Description

The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods, materials, and services at competitive prices while ensuring quality and timely delivery. This role involves supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, compliance with procurement policies, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to obtain the best value for goods and services.

Ensure timely procurement of materials in line with project schedules and operational needs.

Monitor supplier performance and maintain good supplier relationships.

Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts, and other procurement documents.

Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data in procurement systems.

Collaborate with internal departments to forecast demand and manage inventory levels.

Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement regulations.

Resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing with suppliers.

Evaluate bids and make recommendations based on commercial and technical factors.

Participate in cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Proven experience as a Procurement Officer, Buyer, or similar role.

Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.

Proficient in procurement software and MS Office Suite.

Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market.

Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and ISO standards (if applicable).

Attention to detail and strong analytical ability.
